The Oakville Festival of Film and Arts is on this week!

The Festival opens tomorrow Wednesday June 21st with a special event to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day. It’s being held at the @5Drive-In on Ninth Line, Oakville, ON.

It starts at 6:30 pm and there’ll be Indigenous film, food, drinks, dance, music, and drumming! The Canadian premiere of the Film “The Beehive” will be featured along with a Q & A with Filmmakers including Metis Writer/Director Alexander Lasheras. Free tickets to the event are available to anyone 21 years and younger.

The 2023 schedule includes world-class feature films, shorts, and documentaries, from local filmmakers, and auteur and emerging filmmakers from across Canada and around the world. This year’s lineup focuses on family and community, in a variety of shapes and forms, with emphasis on diversity, equity for all, and resiliency of spirit. The Friday Night Gala is at Oakville Centre and features ‘Polarized’

Fireflies, Bioluminescence and Native Plants  @ Bluedot Acres Farm
Fireflies can be found right here! But their habitat is disappearing. Find out how humans can help them flourish. There’ll be face painting, backyard chilling, info about native plants and a Firefly walk.
