Fun Events In and Around Oakville February 18 – 21st

Ontario has observed Family Day on the third Monday in February every year since 2008. It’s a statutory holiday and a day off to break up the cold, freezing winter months. As we count the days between New Years and Easter spring can’t come soon enough, it’s a welcome break.

Featuring Purple Horseshoe Baking Company

The Purple Horseshoe Baking Company opened it’s brick and mortar doors last week on February 11, 2022. Their idea to create premium plant based baked goods company was conceived among friends back in 2018. Sadly, one of the founders Hank passed away before the company started it’s operations.

Hank’s memory lives on with his ten year old sour dough starter. It’s a prized ingredient that’s used in their baking. Hank would be proud.

I read about the opening in a Facebook group that I follow and now I’m so excited to have a bakery close by. I literally can walk over from my house, it’s just a few blocks away. I was peaking at their instagram and saw that they make macrons! Their baking is plant based, dairy free, and Vegan. Purple Horseshoe has been open for orders online since the fall and curb side pick up is also available.
