It's Victoria Day Weekend
And Summer begins right now!
The anticipation of the next few months is what keeps us going all winter long. Traditionally this is the weekend when cottages are opened for the season and everyone heads out of town.
Oakville is known to be very quiet on holiday weekends, although over the past few COVID years it seems that more people are opting to stay home and enjoy their Muskoka like back yards. Pools have been opened and barbecues and meat smokers are ready to cook. Let the Celebrations begin!
Here’s a few low key, no planning ways to pass the time if you’re staying in town.
- Coronation Park in South West Oakville is a great place to have a family picnic and enjoy being lakeside for the day.
- Stop for ice cream in Bronte Village, and take a stroll along the pier. The boats at the Marina are in the water now.
- Shop at the stores downtown Oakville and meet friends for dinner at one of the many fabulous restaurants

Enjoy Victoria Day Sunday with a fantastic fireworks display over the Grand River! Get a seat early, and close to the Caledonia Dam for best viewing. Enjoy an evening of family fun- live music, free popcorn, plus snacks and drinks supporting Mary Poppins Preschool.
