Whatcha Gonna Watch this Weekend?
Don’t you love tropical colours? I know I do, especially after the big snow storm we had yesterday. It seems like all we’ve had are grey skies for the past month or longer. Blah. Life would be so much better if we were sipping smoothies and dancing the merengue on a beach in the Dominican right now.
That brings me to the photo below. It isn’t a designer stock photo, although it should be. The coffee table, the Ladies’ dresses, and splashes of colour, definitely draw me into the room. The photo is from a reality show called ‘Back In The Groove‘ on Disney Plus and Hulu if you have Crave TV.
Three beautiful, outgoing single Ladies in their 40’s travel to the Dominican Republic and check in at the magical Groove Hotel. All three of them have had sadness and hardships in their lives. They haven’t dated anyone recently and are deserving of this time away. No other than Taye Diggs from ‘How Stella Got Her Groove Back‘ is the host.
The reason they are in the Dominican is to date men half their age. Yes, that’s right. The series breaks the stigma of older women dating younger men. Kind of like Super Woman Kris Kardashian has. Why not? As far as I know there’s alway been a double standard for women doing what comes naturally to men. There’s more to the show than that, along with a surprising TWIST! You’ll see when you watch.
It’s different from other reality shows in the sense that it doesn’t centre around drama and drinking. The lush Dominican scenery, tropical wildlife and daring dates are worth seeing, I can think of one in particular. Get some snacks and spend some time on the couch this weekend. Watching the Ladies transform and build their confidence as they date these hot young guys is a living room holiday in itself.
