"Oh, Christmas isn't just a day, it's a frame of mind"
~ Valentine Davies, Miracle on 34th Street
Let The Christmas Magic Begin! It’s December 1st today and that means 25 more days until Christmas. How will you spend them?
Christmas traditions are something we look forward to all year long. Every family and culture has their own unique traditions or they might celebrate their own special holiday a different way. Here are a few Christmas traditions that I’m familiar with and come to mind:
- Hearing your first Christmas song on the radio
- Hanging lights, decorating the house and tree
- Shopping at Christmas bazaars, baking cookies, wrapping gifts
- Carolling, attending a Christmas sing a long, a children’s school play or concert
- Watching old and new sentimental Christmas movies
- Attending a live production at the theatre (Peter Pan, The Nutcracker)
- Going to midnight mass on Christmas Eve or a Sunday service
I can think of so many wonderful Christmastime moments from years gone by. This quote describes what Christmas means to me, “Christmas will always be as long as we stand heart to heart and hand in hand.” ~ Dr. Seuss
