The hot weather is on it’s way and thank goodness all of the Oakville splash pads are open and ready to go! There’s 20 splash pads across Oakville and they’re open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
The Town of Oakville has an entire page on it’s website dedicated to splash pad etiquette. CLICK HERE It’s mostly common sense but worth a read if you’re taking the kids over for some slip sliding fun this summer. For ease, I’ve summed it up down below. There’s a splash pad map on the Town’s site in case you want to try all 20 of them out! Click Here to see the Map. Most Oakville splash pads are conveniently located and may only be a short walk away from home.
Children delight in playing with their friends at the neighbourhood pad and staying open until 8 p.m. is terrific for working parents. A splish splash before bed can tire those little monkeys out and cooling off helps for a restful night.
Oakville Splash Pad Etiquette
- You can drink the water! It’s safe drinking water although it’s not recommended because of the pressure. It’s reassuring to know the children won’t get sick from the water at the splash pad
- All the splash parks have bathrooms to use, a few might have port-o-potties
- Don’t take glass or any breakables to the park
- Flip flops or sandals are recommended to avoid cuts and other injuries
- Pets aren’t allowed on the splash pads
- Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult
- 4 years and under must wear swim diapers
- No beach balls or noodles allowed and anything with wheels is a no go
