   Meet Me In Oakville

Oakville’s Top Tobogganing Hills

There’s a lot of snow in Oakville! Now that the big storm is over and the shovelling is all done, it can only mean one thing Outdoor Fun! Here’s list of Oakville’s best tobogganing hills to visit this week and all winter long.

  • Old Abbey Lane Park  – 1110 Old Abbey Lane
  • Riverview Park – 3008 Riverview Street
  • Garth Webb Secondary School – 2820 Westoak Trails Blvd
  • Tannery Park – 5 Walker Street
  • Appleby College – 540 Lakeshore Road West
  • Bronte Creek Provincial Park – 1219 Burloak Drive

For decades people have been tobogganing at Appleby College, even though it’s private property the school doesn’t seem to mind. When the temperature is low enough there’s outdoor skating at Riverview Park children toboggan on the hill and play shinny on the creek when it’s frozen.

Bronte Creek Provinicial Park requires a day pass, it’s $17.00 or you can borrow a pass from the Oakville Public Library. There used to be an outdoor skating rink at the park, it closed after 40 years back in 2016.

Bundle up and go tobogganing! It’s a wonderful way to enjoy a beautiful winter day and enjoy the fresh air, exercise and fun!

Remember to stay 6 feet apart from other tobogganers, family members excluded. Also wear a mask along with your hat, mitts and scarf, it will keep your face warm and Covid safe. Let me know in the comments which tobogganing hill is your favourite!
